Pop Therapy Adult Group – Ages 19+

Term 3 Details (February to May 2024)

ABOUT
KW Glee offers a comprehensive vocal performance program for adults called Pop Therapy. The group is designed to give singers ages 19 and over the opportunity to learn current hits and popular classics culminating in a high-quality performance concert series with microphones, audio, lighting, and a professional live band.

AUDITIONS
We are offering our current performers a spot in the upcoming term. If spaces become available, we will post a call for video auditions. Details will be here. Make sure you have read the full term schedule and commitment below before submitting an audition. Participants are permitted to miss up to three rehearsals only.

POP THERAPY SCHEDULE
Term Rehearsal Dates: Monday, February 5 to April 29, with a dress rehearsal on May 2, and concerts on May 3 to 5 at The Humanities Theatre at the University of Waterloo.

Rehearsal Period Note
Our show dates are at the mercy of theatre availability. Because the term is shorter than normal, we will be rehearsing on all Monday evenings including Family Day, March Break, and Easter. If we skipped these dates, there simply would not be enough time to learn the material. Members are allowed to miss up to three rehearsals, so if you need to be away on one of these dates, please factor that into your plan.

REHEARSAL TIME
We are extending the rehearsal time until 10:00 p.m. as we need more time.
The new schedule is: Mondays from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Rehearsals will take place on Mondays on the following dates:

February 2024
Mondays: 5, 12, 19 (this is Family day, and we are having rehearsal), 26

March 2024
Mondays: 4, 11 (this is March Break and we are having rehearsal), 18, 25

April 2024
Mondays: 1 (this is Easter and we are having rehearsal), 8, 15, 22, 29

PERFORMANCES
Show Week (Mandatory)

• Thursday, May 2 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Dress Rehearsal at the Humanities Theatre
• Friday, May 3 Public Performance at 7:00 p.m. (called 5:30 p.m.)
• Saturday, May 4 Public Performances at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. (called for 12:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. so there is a break between the end of the matinee at 4:30 p.m. and the call time for the evening at 6:00 p.m.)
• Sunday, May 5 Public Performance at 1:00

TUITION
Tuition for Pop Therapy is $350 including tuition and photo fee.

• We continue to do the best we can to make Pop Therapy affordable for everyone. We will offer payment plans and partial scholarships where possible.
• Costumes will likely need to be purchased.  A “look book” is provided, and performers must have costumes that conform to those guidelines.  Please have a look at photos on this site, or videos of Pop Therapy on YouTube to get a sense of costumes.
