Emily Nighman, Choreographer (Senior)

Emily has over 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry from performing to freelance writing, marketing, and education.  Emily became involved in the performing arts community in the Waterloo Region at a very young age. She is trained in jazz, tap, ballet, hip hop, and lyrical, and danced competitively at Dimensions in Dance and In. Motion School of the Performing Arts. She has also taken years of vocal lessons in classical, musical theatre, pop, and country genres, and competed at the Kiwanis Festival. Emily has also acted in local community theatre, school productions, and Toronto. Notable roles include Brigitta in The Sound of Music (KWMP), Maria in West Side Story (WCI), and Beaver in Franklin and Friends (Corus Entertainment). She holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Film Studies from Wilfrid Laurier University and will attend the University of Toronto in September to earn her Master of Arts. Emily appeared as Beaver in Franklin & Friends (2009-2012) and performed in six terms of KW Glee (2014-2017). She is so honoured and very excited to be a part of the KW Glee team.
